In 1989 Dominique DELESTRE, former driver in Formula 3000, created the APOMOTOX racing team that brilliantly ran in the Formula 3000 International Championship. At the end of 1998 Apomatox began an activity that became Apole. Its objective has been to produce racing car models by using, as much as possible, the same materials that are used in championship racing cars.
For the 1999 season, Prost Grand Prix acquired APOMATOX and renamed it the Prostar "F3000 Prost Junior Team" with Dominique Delestre as team manager. The first model produced was the Prost Peugeot AP01 and, because of its success, Apole has made all the subsequent Prost Grand Prix Formula 1 racing cars : Prost Peugeot AP02 – Prost Peugeot AP03 – Prost Acer AP04.
Apole also produced models of Formula 3000 cars which ran in the 1999, 2000 and 2001 championships for several teams (Arden Team Russian, Red Bull Junior Team…etc), and also some rally cars such as the Peugeot 206 WRC, which won the 2000 Rally Championship. As a result of their experience, Apole has an important savoir-faire and multiple connections, not only in the car industry.
